We are excited to let you know that effective September 2nd, 2025, BB Benefit Group LLC has been acquired by Alera Group.
Our current service team will be retained in their current roles, and the services we have provided you in the past will continue to be offered going forward. Our hope is that by becoming part of Alera Group, we can expand the benefits and services available to you.

Q: Why did you decide to partner with Alera Group?
Partnering with Alera Group allows us to offer our clients the best of both worlds—personalized, hometown service backed by the resources and technology of a national firm. This partnership expands our capabilities, enabling us to provide enhanced benefit offerings for larger clients, as well as additional lines of insurance including retirement planning, property and casualty coverage, and more. We're excited about the opportunity to grow while continuing to deliver the local, relationship-driven service you've come to expect.
Q) What is Alera Group and why did they become interested in acquiring our firm?
Alera Group is an independent financial services firm with $1.5 billion in gross revenue, offering comprehensive property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, wealth services and retirement plan solutions to clients nationwide. Working collaboratively across specialties and across the country, Alera Group’s team of more than 4,600 colleagues offer unique solutions, personalized services and proactive insights to help ensure each client’s business and personal success. The company’s corporate office is located in Deerfield, IL, with locations throughout the United States. As you all know, our industry is in the midst of a radical transformation. Alera Group decided to seize the moment and form a company with a group of industry experts and peers to create a national, best-in-class firm that can leverage new depth and breadth to provide unmatched results for clients. This is an exciting opportunity for us all to make great impact in the industry.
Q) Will our name change?
We will now be identified as, “an Alera Group company.”
Q) Will our office change?
No – We will not be moving our office, and do not have any sort of mandate from Alera Group to do so.

Through our partnership with Alera Group, we’re excited to offer a broader range of services to meet more of your needs, including:

Q) Do you think that we will change course at all? What about Alera Group? What is their end game?
We will continue to have the same core values with the same leadership team in place, and we will be continuing to work with all of our existing clients. I think this partnership opens us up to a number of new opportunities – to work with new companies, and to share expertise and best practices. This is an opportunity for all of us to grow and hone the skills our clients, current and future, rely on us having. Leveraging our combined resources and expertise, we believe we can provide clients with the services and support of larger firms, without losing the independence and values of the founding firms like ours. Alera Group serves clients through employee benefits, property and casualty, wealth management and retirement services, providing opportunity for us to expand our offerings and partnerships. They have technology resources we can access and leverage. They have voluntary and benefit administration platforms, and human capital management solutions we can explore. Many of our new business initiatives could incorporate some of the tools Alera Group has at their disposal, if we desire to use them. Ultimately, our goal remains the same with Alera Group: to differentiate ourselves from our competitors and become the firm of choice.
